Today, as I revisited my early hand notes and proposal for Emission-Eye Oy, and I was drawn back into a memory that has never left me, the tragedy of the MT Sanchi on January 6, 2018:

For many, it was another headline, for me, it was personal.
I was a colleague. I had sailed under the same company, and sailed with two of those 32 souls who never came back.

For seven days, I watched that ship burn, hoping, like their families, that somehow they would survive.
But on January 14, the final explosion happened and the ship sank.
That moment changed how I see my job, and the entire maritime industry.
The sorrow never left me. It never will.

Between 2018 and 2024, one question stayed with me:
👉Why are we still operating with systems that cannot protect us?

I started sketching. Building. Rethinking.
And I realized: while regulations evolved, onboard tools remained manual, delayed, and reactive.
That gap became Emission-Eye Oy
Yes, we can deliver major value, even up to €1.4M per vessel/year in optimization and compliance.
But this is only the beginning.

The Vision:

3-Technical/maintenance

All driven by one core principle: 🔥Transparency

What Transparency Changes
1. Behavior improves → fewer human errors, fewer accidents
2. Automation expands → less workload, less fatigue, safer crews
Because most major accidents, including Sanchi, share the same roots:
Human error, technical failure, and lack of real-time awareness.

My commitment:
I will not stop building toward this vision.
Because being a seafarer is not just about sailing, it is about improving the industry itself.

Today we have AI, IoT, Blockchain, and LEO satellites.
We are no longer limited by technology, only by how boldly we choose to use it.

We owe it to those 32 souls.
To every crew.
To every family waiting ashore.
